A
total of 5 Executive Body Meetings and a Special General Body Meeting held in
the financial year 2011-2012. The major achievements taken into final form in
the above mentioned meetings are stated below:
1. 46th
Annual Reunion function conducted along with the Department of Botany,
University of Kalyani. It was held on 11th March, 2012.

For encouragement of the M.Sc. students of Department of Botany, University of
Kalyani, the following are the list of prizes /awards handed over to the

Three Alumni members Proposed for three more new prizes/awards to encourage the
students of Botany and that has been accepted in the Executive Body Meeting. The prize/award will be given to the pass out
student of M.Sc. obtaining highest marks in the special paper
i.
Pteridology & Paleobotany; sponsored by Dr Sauren Das, Associate Scientist,
Indian Statistical Institute.
ii.
Plant Physiology, Biochemistry, and Plant Molecular Biology; sponsored by Dr.
Pranab Krishna Chaudhury, Principal, Disper College of Education, Deoghar.
iii.
Microbiology; sponsored by Dr Tapan kr. Majumdar, Associate Professor, Raiganj College.
4.
A new saving account has been opened in the Bank of India, Kalyani University Branch
with the a/c no 412110110001856. It has been decided that the Fixed Deposit of
the association in the K.U. Co-operative Credit Society Ltd. will be withdrawn
and refixed in the BOI with the amount `10,000
and `25,000 for A.K. Sarkar Memorial Award
and Mitali Memorial Award respectively. Remaining amount will be kept
separately as fixed deposit.

Thanks to executive body members for their kind co-operation
for smooth running of this programme.

Sarkar for their kind co-operation.
Thanks are also given to Mr. Swapan Sarkar ,CA, for
his kind endeavour for auditing the accounts.
Thank to Dr.Sauren Das, Dr.Pranab Krishna Chaudhuri,
Dr.Tapan kr.Mazumdar for their proposal to initiate prizes/awards for the
students of Botany in some special papers which were left before.
Thanks to Prof. S.R. Sikdar, Division of
Plant Biology, Bose Institute, Kolkata 54
for his talk in the Seminar, that had been arranged
by the Alumni Association and the Department of Botany, jointly today
(25-07-12).
Thanks to Arnab Bhattacharya, R.S., Department of
Botany, K.U. for designing and preparing momento and certificates.

and time.
